Frequently Asked Yoga and Meditation Questions
Welcome video
Our subscribers love The Daily Well's virtual studio because of the wide variety of classes available anytime. And...that can also be overwhelming! How many times have you scrolled Netflix looking for something to watch, only to realize it's been 20 minutes and you haven't settled on a thing!?
First, make sure you've watched the welcome video. This will cover most of what you need to know to begin. Then, a great place to begin is in the Focus Series catalog. Here you could begin with the 7-Day Reset, the True Beginners Series or Begin Again.
You could also decide to try out different content and do one 20-minute class a day, for example. Once you're in the Catalog do a filter for all 20 minute yoga classes. Add any that interest you to your own private playlist and create your weekly practice calendar.
Think of this as a fresh experience
Some people come to The Daily Well who are used to taking classes in a yoga studio or a gym. The biggest advice is that home virtual practice is not that. It's normal to compare the two experiences but they are drastically different. Think of home practice as just for you: quiet, efficient, always there any time of day...and you don't even need to brush your hair.
Create a space you love. If you can, invest in some new yoga props, maybe a meditation cushion. Keep the space clean, create a small altar of meaningful items. Keep a journal and favorite mug nearby. Your body will start to crave the habit of visiting this space and it gets easier to get there over time.
Think frequency over duration. Better to visit your practice 4 times a week for 15 minutes than just once on a Sunday for an hour. This frequency will more quickly build the habit in your brain.
Start with a yoga mat and blocks.
That's all you really need.. A good sticky mat and two 4x6x9 blocks will cover it. We like Manduka mats, B Yoga mats, and Liforme. Blocks can be cork or foam.
Next, and optionally, invest in a yoga bolster and 8-10 foot yoga strap. We love Chattra for bolsters and meditation cushions. And again, Manduka for a yoga strap (we love their easy to use buckle!).
Tell us about yourself!
While our calendar is full for featured on demand instructors for the year, we are always open to knowing more about you!
Email us at hello@thedailywell.co with your credentials, series ideas, and a video sample of previous work if you have it. We are especially interested in teachers who meet at the intersection of licensed therapist/yoga instructor/BIPOC.

Frequently Asked Technical Questions
Easy peezy.
When all else fails, reset your password by going to the Sign In page and clicking "Forgot Password." Within a minute or so you'll get a link to the email account you originally signed up with, or the most current email on your account.
And will anyone see me?
Nope and nope! This isn't like ZOOM. For live stream classes nobody sees you and your camera is not on. It's not a two-way thing, you just see your teacher. You can, however, use the chat function that you'll see once you've joined a live stream class! Ask questions, connect with other students, and say hi to your teacher. They love it. :)
Click "Watch Here" and the feed will begin. The instructor starts the feed about 5 minutes before class is scheduled to begin.
In your living room!
Almost as good as it your instructor was there, AirPlay classes to your Smart TV from your Mac, iPhone or iPad.
With your TV on, open a class, then click the icon that is a little rectangle with a tiny triangle at its base. On your divide you should see your TV pop up, click on it, navigate back to the class and enjoy your practice! Sometimes you will be asked for a code from your TV.
